How much does roof cleaning cost?
How long does roof cleaning take?
Most residential roof cleaning jobs can be completed in one day. The exact time depends on the size and type of roof, the amount of moss or organic growth, the roof pitch, accessibility and whether lift equipment is required. Larger or more difficult roofs may take longer.
Will all the moss be gone immediately?
No. Some moss and lichen may still be visible when we are finished. This is because the growth can become firmly attached to the roof surface, and trying to remove every trace immediately could damage the roof.
We gently remove heavier moss where it can be done safely, then apply a treatment to kill the remaining moss and organic growth. Any moss left behind will turn white, deteriorate and gradually release naturally with rain and weather.
This approach helps protect the roofing material and is much safer than aggressively scraping or pressure washing the roof to make it look completely clean in one day.
Is roof cleaning safe for all types of roofs?
Yes, when the cleaning method is properly matched to the roofing material and condition. Different roof types require different cleaning methods, which is why we assess each roof before deciding how it should be cleaned.
For asphalt shingles, we avoid damaging high pressure and use methods designed to remove and treat moss and organic growth while protecting the shingles. We do not pressure wash concrete tile roofs because excessive pressure can damage or erode the tiles and force water underneath them. How often should a roof be cleaned in the Lower Mainland?
